It’s competition time!! Yay!! And I’ve got a cracking prize for you this week – an LG Optimus 3D Black.
To be honest, I don’t know anything about phones, so have no idea if an LG Optimus 3D Black is a Good Thing, but I do know it retails at over £400 SIM free, and it looks very snazzy to me, so I’m sure it must be just lovely. See:
This is the official blurb:
Enjoy crystal-clear, eye-popping 3D imagery courtesy of the Optimus smartphone from LG. There’s no need for glasses with this handset, just shoot, show and share videos or pictures all with the added bonus of High-definition 3D.
The Optimus is the world’s first mobile to feature dual core, dual channel and dual memory technology. This means high speed smooth processing for games, movies and other applications. What’s more, as this HTC mobile is installed with Android 2.2 you can be sure of a reliable and powerful operating system. With a huge 8GB of memory also included, the HTC Optimus is everything you could want from a smartphone.
‘Crystal-clear, eye-popping 3D imagery’? Sounds awesome doesn’t it? The phone has been given to me by Tesco, to promote their capped tariff, which is designed to save you money, by making sure you never go over your monthly spending limit. You can find out more here, should you so wish.
As this is such a fantabulous competition, I’m going to give you a few different ways to enter. The only one you have to do, is leave a comment on this post, with an idea for something you’d be interested to read about on my blog in the future. If you’d like extra chances to win, you can have one entry for each of the following:
- Sign up to get my posts by email
- Like Slummy single mummy on facebook and share this post with your friends
- Follow me on twitter, and tell all your twitter chums about me
- Bring me round a packet of hobnobs
You’ve got until 31st January to enter, and then a winner will be chosen at random.
Good luck!

I dont have a lot of free time, only evenings really when my partner comes back from work, so he would be there to have my son. We havent got a lot of spare money, but would love to take up an interesting hobby or do something interesting once a week

I would love to read a blog post about the best and cheapest places to shop for baby essentials.
My daughter is pregnant with my first grandchild and its been years since i had to buy baby things, neither of us have a lot of spare cash so need to shop around for the best prices and products. Its not ideal when shes quite big now and really needs more rest

I would love to see some recipes ( you could even get us to send some in!) which would be great for kids to use too. My little ones are constantly wanting to cook / make something with me – normally it turns into a flour fight but three very smiley kids = one very smiley mummy!

If you have plenty of spare time:) you could do some research on LPD(luteal phase defect) and if there are any benefits of taking high dose of vit B6. Many women don’t realise how important is to have a normal LP in order to carry on with pregnancy.

I don’t know if you have already done this but you spent a year where you wanted to read so many books per week and then the following year something like 2 classics a month. I wondered if you would post about the differences between the two and which you preferred (not sure it is a good idea now that I see it in black and white)
January 23, 2012 at 7:00 pm

hi
how about some blog space given to:
1. how to survive being around married/co-habiting mothers – eg, ‘i’m not after your husband’ or ‘i really don’t feel like being set-up on dates!’
2. finance tips especially with regards to living on a single income or budget
3. how to cope with being so tired…single parenthood is darned hard work.
thanks
January 23, 2012 at 7:01 pm
jomiddleton
That’s an interesting one, because actually no one EVER offers to set me up on dates! Even in the past when I’ve actually asked, all my friends have looked sort of shifty and said they couldn’t think of anyone, or that so-and-so wouldn’t be ‘right’ for me. I don’t know what they’re trying to say…
January 24, 2012 at 12:21 am
honeybee
Thanks for the feedback… Have you really never had anyone try to ‘set you up’? OMG, I’ve lost count of the times people – friends, relatives, colleagues – have politely suggested to me to ‘get out and about more – meet someone, get married!’… Maybe for you, it’s because you seem so confident and content and independent.
January 27, 2012 at 2:24 pm
jomiddleton
Nope, I can’t remember anyone EVER trying to set me up. When I sometimes ask why, people say things like ‘I’m not sure they’re be interesting enough for you’, or ‘I’m not sure they could handle you’!!

I know just how you feel. I’m not sure what the answer is to be honest. I’ve done a lot of guest posting lately, which has definitely helped me come up with new ideas, although not for my own blog, which isn’t terribly helpful! Sometimes I think you just have to sit down and start writing and see what comes out. Or you could write about something completely different from what you usually write about? Challenge yourself in some way? Or maybe just allow yourself to take a break, not force it, and come back when you feel refreshed?

I’d love a post helping to explain to teenage girls why wearing next to nothing/throwing insults at each other on Twitter/having the name of each new partner tattooed on them within 5 minutes of meeting them and all the other daft stuff the (albeit rich and famous) “celebrities” they idolise get up to, isn’t such a good idea for them . . . I need a killer answer, lol!

I’ve been really lucky Samantha – when my kids were younger I lived really close to my family, and they helped out loads, and now I work at home, and am self-employed, so I can plan work around them. I don’t think I’d be able to manage if I had to pay loads for childcare. Do you have any other working mum friends that you could share the childcare with?

Or tips on how to keep relationships with your children strong through their teenage years through activities and creating memories and things

I would be interested on ideas for school lunchboxes which would be acceptable to the “lunchbox police “. I know that schools have a duty to encourage healthy eating and diets … but seriously the list of what thay will not allow gets longer each term. Also with schools banning more and more items due to other children having food ( e.g nut allergies ) intolerance, it is getting more difficult to provide a varied and intersting lunch for many children
January 27, 2012 at 2:44 pm
jomiddleton
Belle’s school has banned anything nut related and I find it really hard. She’s a fussy eater, and a skinny little think, so peanut butter and nuts were always a good way to get calories into her.
